This year Miami hosts the third annual Carnaval en Miami, loosely based on Carnaval de Barranquilla and from what I’ve heard, well worth a visit. The official site is here, but unfortunately there is no English language version. Events run on the 27th and 28th February and 1st of March, so there is plenty to see. I’ve been informed that hotels tend to fill up pretty quick around carnival time so I recommend booking ahead if you plan to visit.
